You can identify candidates who have applied to multiple jobs within your Applicant Tracking System. This helps you review all applications and take appropriate action.
Note: If you manage multiple ATS instances, this will indicate candidates who have applied for multiple jobs within a particular ATS instance, not across all ATS instances.
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
- Select a job title.
-
Select a candidate’s name on the Candidate Breakdown screen.
- On the Candidate’s profile page, review the color of the Candidate Info icon next to the candidate’s name. The icon color indicates whether the candidate has submitted applications for multiple positions.
- Blue indicates the candidate applied to one job.
-
Orange indicates that the candidate applied for multiple jobs.

- Select the Candidate Info icon.
-
Select the Assign to a Job tab to view the candidate’s application details. Here you will find the other job records that this candidate is also assigned to.
- To the bottom of the Candidates Document Viewer on their profile, you can also view the candidate's other application records.
After you review the candidate profile, you can see whether the candidate applied to multiple jobs and view the related application details.
Troubleshooting
- Info icon does not show multiple applications: Make sure the candidate used the same email address for each application. Paycor Recruiting identifies candidates who apply to multiple jobs by the email address that they use to apply.
- Cannot open candidate profile: Make sure you are an admin or staffing user or have been assigned a role on the job.
- Color indicator is unclear: Refresh the screen to load the latest status.
Notes
- You can merge duplicate candidate records with the Candidate De-Duplication Tool. Refer to Combine duplicate candidate records with de-duplication.
- You can pass on all candidate records at the same time. Refer to Pass on applicants with multiple applications.
- To prevent applicants from applying for the same job more than once, refer to Prevent duplicate applicants for the same job.
