Recruiting: Native Security / Additional Privacy Settings

How to set up native security and additional privacy settings

Recruiting comes with some native security as it relates to Hiring Managers. Standard Users are not able to view any of the Job Information/Comments or Candidate Info/Comments unless they are assigned to that particular job.

By default, Standard Users do NOT see candidates that are Internal Applicants unless they are assigned to that job.

If you want to make additional restrictions to Standard Users' permissions, there are additional options:

  • Make the job confidential: Only people assigned to the job are able to see this as an active job existing in Recruiting.
  • Turn on our "Candidate Hiding" feature (not recommended). You can turn this feature on from Admin > Company Settings > Candidate Hiding header.
    • Recruiting hides all the candidates unless the Standard User is assigned to the same job.
    • This causes substantial changes to Recruiting:
      • The Other Jobs Tab on the home page is disabled. Your users are informed that they lack permission to view this information.
      • The Candidate Breakdown page for "Other" jobs is be empty. Your users are informed that they lack permission to view this information.
      • Standard Users are prohibited from viewing the "All Data" analytics report.
    • These changes prevent Standard Users from:
      • Assigning candidates to other jobs (or other candidates to their jobs)
      • If a new Standard User is created and they are not assigned to any jobs, all content is blocked when they log in.
