Recruiting has built-in security to help protect Hiring Manager and candidate information.
Understand default access rules
By default:
- Regular users can only see job details and candidate information for jobs they are assigned to.
- Regular users cannot see employees who apply for internal jobs unless they are assigned to that job.
Limit access even more (optional)
If you need more control, you can turn on extra settings.
-
Make a job confidential
- Only people assigned to the job can see it as an active job in Recruiting.
- This helps keep sensitive roles private.
- Refer to Create a confidential job.
-
Turn on candidate hiding (not recommended):
- This setting hides all candidates unless a Standard User is assigned to the same job.
-
We do not recommend this option because it causes big changes in Recruiting:
- The Other Jobs Tab on the home page is disabled.
- Users see a message that they do not have permission to view this information.
- The Candidate Breakdown page for Other jobs shows no data.
- Users see a message that they do not have permission to view this information.
- Standard Users cannot view the All Data analytics report.
- The Other Jobs Tab on the home page is disabled.
- These changes prevent Standard Users from:
- Assigning candidates to other jobs
- Assigning other candidates to their own jobs
- If a new Standard User is created and is not assigned to any jobs:
- All Recruiting content is blocked when they sign in.
