This article answers common questions about job approvals in Recruiting. It explains who can approve jobs, who can see jobs in the approval process, and what actions different user roles can take.
Who can approve a job for someone else?
Admin and Staffing users can approve a job on behalf of another approver.
- Open the job that needs approval.
- Go to the job’s approval record.
- In the Approval Bar, click the approver’s name.

Complete the approval for that person.
Can the job approval process be skipped?
Admin and Staffing users can skip the approval process after a job request is submitted.
- Submit the job request.
- When the Select an Approval Process prompt opens, select Skip Approval.

Continue with the job setup.
Who can edit a job after approval?
Editing rights depend on your user role.
- Admin and Staffing users can edit a job after it is approved.
- Standard users can edit the job description only. They cannot edit other job details.
Who can see jobs in the approval process?
For security reasons, not all users can see every job in approval.
- Admin and Staffing users can see all jobs in the approval process.
- Standard users can see only jobs where they are selected as an approver.
- If you are a Standard user and not an approver, the job is hidden from you.
Do I need to log in to Recruiting to approve or deny a job?
You do not need to log in to Recruiting to approve or deny a job.
When you receive a job approval email:
- Reply with #Approve to approve the job.
- Reply with #Deny to deny the job.
Recruiting updates the job approval status automatically based on your reply.
