A generic candidate is a candidate who does not apply for a specific job. Their application is stored in the Candidate Pool in Recruiting, so you can review those applicants.

To learn more about generic application submissions through your Careers site, refer to Allow candidates to submit generic applications in Recruiting.

  1.  Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Select Generic Candidate Pool.

The system displays all candidates who applied without selecting a specific job or were added to the system manually as generic candidates.
  3. Use the search box at the top to enter information to narrow the search. For more information on adding candidates to the system manually, refer to Create a candidate.

Notes

  • In Notification Settings, turn on a notification when a candidate submits a generic application.

  • When you are ready to move a generic candidate into the hiring process for an active job, assign the candidate to that job.  For more information on assigning candidates to a job, refer to Assign a candidate to another job.
