Review and update candidate metadata in Recruiting

Learn what candidate metadata is, what it includes, and where to find it.

This article is for administrators.

Candidate metadata is information collected from candidate resumes in Recruiting. This information supports Advanced Search, which helps you find the most relevant candidates in your database.

As a best practice, review candidate metadata regularly. You can update existing metadata fields if you obtain additional information from a candidate that would improve Advanced Search results.

For more information on searching candidates, refer to Use Candidate Search with Boolean Operators and Advanced Filters.

What candidate metadata includes

Candidate metadata may include the following information:

  • Position Titles
  • Latest Employer
  • All Employers
  • Current Salary
  • Desired Salary
  • Skills
  • Qualifications
  • Schools
  • City
  • State

Edit candidate metadata

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Open a candidate’s record.
  3. Select the Metadata tab above the Document Viewer to review the candidate’s metadata.

  4. If you have additional candidate information to add, or need to correct existing metadata, select Edit and update the metadata as needed in the pop-up window.
  5. Select Save.

Tips

  • Review candidate metadata when resumes are added or updated.
  • Update metadata when you receive new candidate information that could improve Advanced Search results.
  • Verify that key information, such as skills, employers, and job titles, is accurate.
  • Keep metadata up to date to improve candidate matching and search accuracy.
