This article is for administrators and hiring managers.
You must have Administrator access in Recruiting.
You must have permission to modify Access and Permissions settings in Paycor.
For information about enabling SSO, refer to Enable Single Sign-On (SSO) and the Recruiting Widget.
Use this article to verify that Single Sign-On (SSO) between Paycor and Recruiting is set up correctly and to troubleshoot common access and widget issues.
Users can access Recruiting from Paycor in two ways:
-
Applicant Tracking menu
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking from the Paycor menu.
- When SSO is configured correctly, Recruiting opens automatically.
-
Recruiting dashboard widget
- Access Recruiting from the Recruiting widget on the Paycor home dashboard if the widget has been added and the user meets the required access criteria.
If you need additional help, contact RecruitingSupport@paycor.com.
Verify access to the Hiring menu
The user must have the appropriate Paycor access to view People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking.
Access may be available through roles such as:
- Company Administrator
- HR Administrator
- Hire Employees
- Limited Employee Hiring
If the user does not see Hiring under People, ask the organization's Paycor administrator to review the user's access.
Note: Limited Employee Hiring is the lowest-level access listed in the current guidance that allows access to the Hiring area.
After access is updated, test again.
Verify Recruiting SSO is turned on
- Go to Company > User Access > Access & Registration.
-
Locate the user.
- Select the user's name to expand the profile.
- Find the Recruiting SSO section.
-
If collapsed, open the section with the user’s name to reveal the Recruiting SSO field. The arrow next to the user’s name will be pointing down when the section is open.
- Confirm that:
- The user is active in Paycor.
- The user is active in Recruiting.
- Recruiting SSO is enabled.
- An email address appears in the Recruiting SSO section.
If it’s not enabled, refer to Enable Single Sign-On (SSO) and the Recruiting Widget.
Note: After enabling or re-enabling SSO, allow up to 15 minutes for the systems to sync before testing again.
Verify the User's email address
- In Access & Registration, expand the user's profile.
- Select the gear icon in the Recruiting SSO section.
-
Review the configured email address.
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
- Open the user's profile in Recruiting.
-
Compare the email address in Recruiting with the email address configured for SSO in Paycor.
The email addresses must match exactly.
- Check for:
- Typographical errors
- Extra spaces
- Personal email addresses used in only one system
- Old or inactive email addresses
- Differences in spelling or punctuation
- If the email addresses do not match, update the relevant record so they are identical.
- If SSO was enabled before the email address was corrected, follow the steps in Reconfigure SSO after an email address change.
Verify multiple client IDs
If the user is assigned to multiple Paycor Client IDs, confirm that:
- Recruiting SSO is enabled for every applicable user record.
- The correct email address is configured for each Client ID.
- The user is signed in through the correct Paycor account.
Verify multiple Paycor user accounts
If the user has more than one Paycor user account, confirm that:
- The user is signed into the correct account.
- Recruiting SSO is enabled for the account being used.
- The SSO email address matches the corresponding Recruiting profile.
Reconfigure SSO after an email address change
- Go to Company > User Access > Access & Registration.
- Locate and expand the user's profile.
- Select the gear icon in the Recruiting SSO section.
-
Select Disable.
- Save the change.
- Reopen the Recruiting SSO settings.
- Confirm the displayed email address matches the user's email address in Recruiting.
- Select Save & Enable.
- Allow up to 15 minutes for the systems to sync.
- Test access from People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking.
Troubleshoot Recruiting widget issues
Use this section when the user can open Recruiting but the Recruiting widget:
- Is missing
- Displays an exclamation point
- Does not display expected jobs, candidates, or offers
Important: The widget displays information only when Recruiting SSO is enabled and the user meets the required Recruiting role, job assignment, candidate, or offer approval requirements.
Add the Recruiting widget
-
From the Paycor home dashboard, select Edit.
- Select Manage Content.
-
Turn on Recruiting.
- Save the dashboard changes.
Users can also select Reorganize Layout from the Edit menu to move the widget.
Verify the user's Recruiting role
To view job and candidate information in the widget, the user must be assigned one of the following Recruiting roles:
- Recruiter
- Hiring Manager
Users assigned only these roles cannot view job and candidate information in the widget:
- Team Member
- Executive
Before changing a user's role, confirm the user should have any additional access that accompanies the role, including compensation or salary information.
Verify access to active jobs
Confirm that:
- The user is assigned to the job as a Hiring Manager or Recruiter.
- The job is active.
-
The active job has candidates.
If these conditions are not met, job or candidate information may not appear in the widget.
Verify offer approval access
To view offer information in the widget:
- The user must be part of an active offer approval flow.
-
The offer must belong to that approval flow.
If the user is not part of an active approval flow, offer information does not display on the Offers tab.

SSO shows as enabled, but the user cannot access Recruiting

Possible cause
-
SSO into Paycor (not from Paycor into Recruiting) has been enabled. The correct option will say Recruiting SSO.
Resolution
- Enable Recruiting SSO for the user. The users email address should be visible under Recruiting SSO.
Possible cause
-
The user sees SSO Enabled in Company > User Access > Access & Registration and assumes Recruiting SSO is enabled.
- SSO Enabled only applies to signing in to Paycor. It does not indicate that Recruiting SSO is enabled.
Resolution
-
Verify that you are looking at the Recruiting SSO section in the user's profile, not the SSO Enabled field.
-
Confirm that:
- A Recruiting SSO section is present.
- Recruiting SSO is enabled.
- The user's email address appears under Recruiting SSO.
If only SSO Enabled is displayed, or Recruiting SSO is not enabled, the user will not be able to access Recruiting through SSO.
