Edit the thanks for applying message notification and email in Recruiting

Describes how to edit both the Thanks for Applying notification message and email that candidates receive after they submit a job application..

Overview 

These updates help you control what candidates see on screen and what they receive by email. 

What Candidates Receive After Applying 

After a candidate submits an application, they receive the following: 

  • Thanks for Applying Notification 
    A message that appears in the candidate’s browser after they select Submit. 
  • Thanks for Applying Email 
    An email sent to the candidate after the application is submitted. 

Edit the Thanks for Applying Message notification 

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Select Admin, then select Careers Page
  3. When the Careers Page opens, it defaults to the Settings tab. 
  4. Scroll to the Thanks for Applying Message section.
  5. Update the message in the text box as needed. 
    Note: The text box supports HTML formatting.  
  6. Select Save

Edit the Thanks for Applying email template 

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Select Admin, then select Careers Page
  3. Select Message Templates
  4. When the Message Templates window opens, it defaults to the Corporate Templates tab.  
  5. Scroll to the Thank You for Applying section. 
  6. Select the email template you want to edit. 
    This example uses the Thank You for Applying email template.
  7. Update the email content as needed.  
  8. Select Save

Notes and Tips 

  • The Thanks for Applying Email Template is sent to candidates who apply for posted jobs. 
  • The Generic Submission Template is sent to candidates who submit a generic application
  • This email template does not automatically include a default signature. You must add a signature manually. 
  • You can create Custom Thank You Letter Templates to send job-specific emails instead of using the standard template.
