Edit blocks in an existing job application

Part of the Recruiting Application Builder Guide describing how to use the Application Builder feature in Recruiting to create and customize the application process.

You can update job applications to match your hiring needs. You can change questions, fields, and layout to create a clear application experience for candidates. 

You can create and manage unlimited custom applications based on your jobs and information needs.

Open an application to edit 

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.  
  2. Select Admin, then select Careers Page
  3. Select the Applications tab, then select the application you want to edit.

Edit block content 

  1. In the application, locate the block you want to update.  
  2. Select the three-dot menu on the block.  
  3. Select Title Text or Paragraph Text to edit the content.  
  4. Select Save after editing.

Move a block  

  1. In the application, locate the block you want to move. 
  2. Select the three-dot menu on the block. 
  3. Select Move
  4. Select which section you would like to move this block Above or Below and select Move
  5. Select Save

Duplicate a block 

  1. In the application, locate the block you want to copy.  
  2. Select the three-dot menu on the block.  
  3. Select Duplicate.  
  4. Select Save. The exact same block will be created below the existing block on the application.

Set block visibility 

You can restrict the visibility of certain questions without deleting them.  This is useful when you want to keep the questions for future use. 

  1. In the application, locate the block you want to restrict visibility on. 
  2. Select the blue eye icon to change the visibility of the field. 
  3. Select Save

Set required fields 

You can require candidates to complete specific fields. 

  1. In the application, locate the block you want to require. 
  2. Select the blue star icon to mark a field as required. A blue star means the field is required. 
  3. Select Save

Important notes 

  • When you save changes, you must confirm that you are not collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII). 
  • PII includes date of birth, Social Security number, driver license number, bank details, passport information, or copies of these documents. 
  • Including PII questions or fields could prevent your job from displaying externally on job boards.
