Access Requirements
Administrator and Staffing User Access
By default, administrators and staffing users have access to all job details:
Only administrators and staffing users can create the sources:
- On the Recruiting dashboard, at the top, click Admin, select Company Settings, and then Sources.
Standard User Access
To access a job's details, Standard Users must be assigned to the job as a Hiring Manager.
After sources are created by administrators or staffing users, Standard Users can create tracking links for those sources.

Description
Understanding where your candidates begin the application process allows you to evaluate the success of your outreach efforts and refine your recruiting strategy accordingly.
This is especially useful when you use QR codes on printed materials, signs, or digital campaigns.
Why Use QR Code Source Tracking?
For more granular tracking of your QR Code sources, which allows you to:
- Identify where candidates are finding your jobs — such as flyers, posters, or event booths.
- Evaluate the success of your advertising efforts — so you can determine if your QR Codes are driving job seekers to apply.
- Refine your recruiting strategy — by understanding which sources attract the most qualified applicants.
Tips for Success
- Be descriptive with your source names (include event names, dates, or locations).
- Test your links before printing QR codes to verify they work correctly.
- Use consistent naming conventions to simplify reporting and analysis.
Steps to Create Unique Source Tracking for Scannable QR Codes
Step 1: Create the Source
- Log in to Paycor and go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking. The screen opens with Active Jobs in your company.
- At the top, click Admin and select Company Settings. The Company Settings screen appears.
- On the left, click Sources, and then at the top, Create a New Source.
- This can have any name you’d like, such as QR Code, QR Code Career Fair Dec 2025, or QR Code Yard Signs. This name is used only for internal tracking purposes.
- Click Save.
- Proceed to the appropriate Step 2 below depending on your need: Create the Unique Tracking Link for a Specific Job or Create the Unique Tracking Link for Your Entire Careers Page.
Step 2: Create the Unique Tracking Link for a Specific Job
- Log in to Paycor and go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking. The screen opens with Active Jobs in your company.
- Find the job you want to update and click the Promote link. The job's details screen appears.
- In the Tracking Links section on the right, click the menu and select your Source.
- Next to the field, click Create a Tracking Link.
- Hover over your selected Source and click Copy Link.
Two URLs will be available:
- Link to the Job Description Page will take your job seeker to the job description, where they can read the details and information about your company, then continue to the application
- Link to the Job Application/EEO Questionnaire Page will take the candidate right to your application for that position
- Use this link when you’re creating the QR Code to be scanned for the job.
- Applicants who scan the link and apply will come into your Recruiting platform tagged with that source.
Step 2. Create a Tracking Link for Your Entire Careers Page
For a Paycor Hosted Careers Page:
- At the end of the Careers Page URL, add &gns=source.
- Example: &gns=QRCode
- Your URL will look something like this:
- Any applicant who scans a QR Code with that link and applies to any of your jobs comes into your Recruiting platform tagged with QRCode as the source or referrer.
For an iFrame:
- At the end of your Careers Page URL, add ?gns=source.
- Example: ?gns=QRCode
- Your URL will look something like this:
- Any applicant who scans a QR Code with that link and applies to any of your jobs, comes into your Recruiting platform tagged with QRCode as the source or referrer (see the image above).
