Assign location details for job board posting in Recruiting

Describes how to enter location details for a job posting so job boards can accurately display and categorize your jobs.

This article is for administrators.

You must have Administrator or Staffing User permissions.

Manage your location library

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Go to Admin > Company Settings > Locations

  3. Review each location in the location library.
  4. Make sure each location contains:
  • A single city name
Note: Use a specific city name, such as Chicago or San Francisco. Do not use regional names such as Chicagoland Area or Bay Area.
  • A state
  • A ZIP code
  1. If a location is missing information, select the pencil icon and update the location details.
  2. To create a new location, select Create a New Location. Enter the required information, and save the location.
  3. Remove duplicate or unused locations from the location library by selecting the trash can icon.

Verify or Change Location Value on a Job

  1. Open the job record that you want to post to job boards.
  2. Select a location in the Location field.

  3. If the position is remote or hybrid, use the Remote Status field to select the option that matches the job:
  • Remote
  • Hybrid
  • On-Site
  • The job board will see this detail and categorize the job accordingly.
  1. Save the job record.

Post jobs in multiple locations

If a job is available in more than one location, choose one of the following options:

  1. Create a separate job record for each location.
  2. Create one job record in Recruiting and post the job directly on the job board using a tracking link. Job boards may allow for multiple locations, where the Paycor-to-job board feed only allows for a single location.
  • A tracking link allows applicants to apply through Paycor Recruiting while the job remains posted on an external job board or social media site.
  • Applicants follow the tracking link, complete the application process, and enter the Recruiting platform for evaluation.
  • For more information on tracking links, refer to Create tracking links for external job boards.

Troubleshooting

Job does not appear in the correct location on a job board.

  • The assigned location may be missing a city, state, or ZIP code.
    • Make sure all location details are correct. Update the location record if needed. It may take several hours for the job board to reflect the change; it will not be instant.

The job does not display on LinkedIn.

  • LinkedIn is very sensitive to missing location details. If any details are missing or are incorrect, LinkedIn may simply not post the job.
    • Make sure all location details are correct. Update the location record if needed. It may take several hours for the job board to reflect the change; it will not be instant.

Job is intended for multiple cities.

  • Recruiting supports one location per job record
  • Create separate job records for each location or use a tracking link with an external job board posting.

Remote job is displayed incorrectly.

  • Check the value selected in the Remote Status field. Update it if needed.
