This article is for administrators, staffing users, and standard users assigned as hiring managers.
You must have Administrator or Staffing User access to create candidate sources.
If you are a Standard User, you must be assigned as a Hiring Manager on the job.
A candidate source must exist before you create a tracking URL.
QR code source tracking helps you measure where candidates find your jobs and evaluate the success of your recruiting campaigns.
Use QR codes on printed materials, signs, or digital campaigns. When candidates scan the code and apply, their source is tracked on their candidate record in Recruiting.
Benefits of QR code source tracking
You can use QR code tracking to:
- See where candidates find your jobs, such as flyers or events
- Measure how well your ads perform
- Improve your recruiting strategy based on results
For more information on using free QR code generators, refer to Create QR codes to promote jobs and careers pages.
Create a source
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
- If one does not already exist, create a source. For more information, refer to Add or edit candidate sources.
Create a tracking link for an individual job
- If you’re sharing an individual job, and one does not already exist, create a tracking link.
- For more information, refer to Create tracking links for external job boards.
Create a tracking link for your careers page
For a Paycor Hosted Careers Page
- Add &gns=source to the end of your careers page URL.
- Applicants who apply from this link are tagged with the source.
For an iFrame Careers Page
- Add ?gns=source to the end of your URL.
- Applicants who apply from this link are tagged with the source.
After you create a tracking link, use a QR code generator to create a scannable link. Use that code to promote your job or Careers Page. Candidates who apply through the QR code will have that source listed on their candidate record. This allows you to track candidate activity and report on source performance in Recruiting.
For more information on QR code generation, refer to Promote jobs and careers with QR codes.
