Automate feedback requests in Recruiting

Learn how to automate feedback requests for hiring managers.

This article is for administrators.

Overview

Scorecards are used for structured, consistent evaluations. Feedback requests are quick and allow for flexible input with minimal setup. This article explains how to turn off scorecards and use feedback requests, so interviewers can submit feedback by email without signing in to the Recruiting platform.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an administrator to manage the Scorecard settings.
  • Staffing and standard users can initiate and submit feedback, once the settings have been updated by an administrator.
  • Echo must be turned on if you want interviewers to reply by email.

Decide when to use scorecards vs feedback

Use scorecards when:

  • You must standardize how interviewers evaluate candidates.
  • You want consistent scoring across all candidates and roles.
  • You need structured questions tied to specific roles or interview stages.
  • Your team relies on quick comparisons based on dashboard scores.
  • You use interview guides linked to scorecards during interviews.

Use feedback requests when:

  • You want a simple and fast way to collect feedback.
  • Interviewers prefer to respond directly from email.
  • You do not require structured questions or scoring.
  • Your team values open-ended, written feedback over ratings.
  • You want to reduce the need for interviewers to access the Recruiting platform.

Turn off scorecards

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Select Admin > Interviews > Interview Scorecards > Settings
  3. Turn off Enable Interview Scorecards. This turns off the Scorecards feature and defaults to Feedback requests.

 Send feedback requests

  1. From the Candidate Profile, schedule an interview using the Interview Scheduling Tool or record a meeting you scheduled outside the system. For more information, refer to Use Interview Scheduling in Recruiting.
  2. Enter the interview date, time, and interviewers.
  • Example when booking within the Recruiting platform, using the Interview Scheduling Tool.

  • Example when booking outside of the Recruiting platform.

  1. The system sends a feedback request to each listed interviewer after the interview ends.

Receive and submit feedback

  1. Open the feedback request email in your inbox.
  2. Reply to the email with your feedback about the candidate.
  3. The system saves your response automatically. The feedback appears on the candidate’s Newsfeed.
